Powderfinger - Sunsets Farwell Tour Sept-Nov 2010

Powderfinger hit the road late in 2010 for their farewell tour of Australia and New Zealand. The band had decided after 20 years of making music and touring the world to call it a day and thus set out on the Sunsets Farewell tour. It consisted of arenas for the capitals cities and big-top tents for the regional areas. 3 months in total. The bands FOH operator Mark McElligot contacted us and asked if he could get the D&B J system for the tour for a few reasons being the vibe on the J system around the world re its amazing sound quality and the size and weight in regards to fitting into the big-top tents.

The system design incorporated J8 & J12 for the main and side hangs. J-subs were also flown with B2 subs on the ground.

The tour also had a B stage just in front of the FOH desk and with a separate monitor system package. Nice and loud out front!

At Acer arena in Sydney it was decided that a full 2nd audio system would be supplied and flown above the B stage and thus above the band.  We ended utilizing an Adamson Y18 & Y10 system from Norwest Sydney. Both JPS and JAS were completely out of audio that week. Truly!

Jet also accompanied Powderfinger on the whole tour. They truly rocked the house every night as only Jet could do. FOH duties by “John Boy Rock” and Monitors by Will Burston. Lovely chaps.
