The Who March 2009As JAS had recently purchased the D & B J system we were contacted by the Who to see if we could supply the J for their Australian tour. Paul Ramsay their FOH operator was pretty keen to use the system if it was available as they had been using J worldwide. Luckily we had the system available and were happy to assist. The tour consisted of arenas and some outdoor shows. The system also required 3 x Digico digital consoles and possibly the first tour in Australia to use the SD7. The SD7 was doing the FOH duties and the 2 x D5 consoles were on monitors. All the consoles were running with dual racks (112chls) and we also supplied a recording system. So we had a massive stage patching system to boot!!! The schedule also meant JAS needed to supply a 2nd system due to an overnight run back to the GP so It was decide to supply a Vdosc system. The Who also played the Melbourne Grand Prix and JAS supplied another 2 x delay towers of 16 Vdosc to help cover the estimated crowd of 40,000 people. The tour also saw the Counting Crows supporting and they brought their own console package with them which consisted of Digidesign consoles. We did however need to supply 2 x Digidesgn consoles for their Perth show.
