January – March 2009January to the end of March was a pretty busy time here at JAS. Here's a few of the festivals and tours JAS supplied production for.
Falls Festival, Lorne VictoriaAnother sold-out festival. We supplied the Nexo Geo T system and Midas consoles this year. We also supplied a Digidesign console and M2 wedge package for Franz Ferdinand. Pyramid Rock Festival Phillip IslandThe main stage got the D&B J system and the tent ended up with the Vdosc. Lots of people Solar Music Festival MorningtonThis was the first year for this festival and a huge crowd made it a memorable one. Nexo Geo T made the main stage and Alpha systems took up the slack. All tomorrow's party's 2 Day Festival at Mt Bulla in country Victoria and also the Brisbane river stage.This was the first year for this festival and by all reports was a standout and looks like happening next year. Vdosc and Nexo Alpha systems were used. Nick Cave was the main headline act. Summadayze Festival at the Myer Music Bowl MelbourneAs always this festival was sold-out way in advance. This year for a change the main DJ setup was out in the middle on a rotating stage!!! Yes going around and around all day…D&B J system for the main and Nexo Alpha everywhere else. Summafieldayze at the Gold Coast QLDVdosc and Nexo Alpha systems were used Doof Doof. Peaches and Cream FestivalThis festival returned this year after a few years away. We sent Natalie up there to production manage the event. Nexo Alpha system did the job. Sunset Sounds Festival Brisbane River StageThis again was the first year for this festival and ran in conjunction with the Falls festivals.We used Vdosc for this one. Big Day Out Festival Sydney and MelbourneWe supplied the stages 3 & 4 in Sydney and all stages except the main in Melbourne .Vdosc system and Nexo Alpha systems. St Kilda FestivalA big turnout again for the festival and a hot one. 45c temperature on the setup day had all the crew melting. We supplied the 3 main stages with Vdosc and Nexo Alpha doing the job. Ragamuffin TourWith Ziggy Marlie, Peter Tosh, and a load of other big bass boomers it certainly had the system pumping. We had two duplicate Vdosc arena systems out leap frogging due to time restrains. Laneway Festival MelbourneThis year's laneway festival had a turnout in excess of 8000 people and it went over the top. Larry Pointing was the events production manager and he certainly had his hands full. Nexo GEO T system was used for the main stage and small Alpha systems elsewhere. Stray Cats tourI don't think OZ has seen the Stray Cats since they were around in the early 80's. We sent Colin Elis out as FOH engineer and Paul Kennedy on monitors. They toured with a JAS package. CMC Rocks Festival Snowy MountainsAgain this was the first year for this festival up in the Snowy Mountains near Canberra . Larry pointing was the production manager for the event with it all running on time and a great buzz about the festival.Vdosc was used here. MoombaLots of floats and a main stage had us pretty busy over this weekend Coldplay TourThis had the largest speaker system we had put into an arena tour. Checkout the Coldplay Tour in News. The Who TourCheckout The Who tour in news for all the talk.D&B J system Soundwave Festivals Sydney and MelbourneA big festival with NIN and Alice in chains headlining the main stages 1 & 2. Over 110,000 punters throughout Australia which has the festival well on its way. Large Vdosc systems at both events. Bushfire Memorial event at RLALarry Ponting was the event producer for this event and with 1000VIP's from all over the world the pressure was on. A great result for JAS and Larry Ponting. Sound Relief event at the MCGBiggest paying gig ever in Australia 's history!!! Checkout all the info in News. A huge Vdosc system and 82,000 punters at the MCG. |
