John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crow tour with D & B J Line

John Mellencamp returned to Australia after a 16 year absence for a national tour. The tour included a number of “A Day on the Green” shows held at wineries around the country, with additional indoor shows at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne and Acer Arena in Sydney .

There is only one speaker cabinet on the John Mellencamp production rider – D&B J Line – and the tour was the first outing for Johnston Audio's brand new J Line system.

The system preformed way beyond expectations and everyone was mentioning the sound quality. We're sure the bands' engineers had something to do with that!

Also appearing on the bill was special guest Sheryl Crow who also had not been in Australia for many years. Both acts brought their own specific set of conditions to the tour. The stage patch for the shows was extraordinary; with John Mellencamp requiring 58 channels and Sheryl Crow using 66 lines.

Both FOH engineers used the same Digidesign Profile 96 channel console and there was a Midas Heritage H3000 on monitors for John Mellencamp and a Digidesign Venue console for Sheryl Crow
