TOTO…Hold the Line!

Johnston Audio supplied an L’Acoustics ARCS system to Toto for their Palace show and Metro Theatre show in Sydney. Widely acknowledged as outstanding musicians, the Toto show was greeted by rave reviews. We have to say that the drum kit was bigger than the system.!

Jock Bain had been touring with Toto through Europe for Britannia Row and picked up the gig stage managing the band in Asia and taking on the Production Management reins for their Australian shows. Toto’s regular production manager Laurie Small was unable to make the trip to Australia, and was looking for a full production service for Australia, which Johnston Audio provided, coordinating freight, trucking, lighting and personnel for the Australian dates. For us it’s all “part of the service”

The system for Toto included 14 x ARCS, 12 x Wayloud dual 18” subs – powered by Camco Vortex 6 with Lake Contour processing; a Midas Heritage 3000 at each end of the multicore, heaps of effects and inserts, Wayloud wedges and some more effects and inserts!

Richie Robinson and David Quigley provided the system support, with Dave Quigley also travelling to the show in Sydney where he was assisted by Simon “Davros” Blanche.
