The Story of the Year - One Truck Touring ! June 2006

Johnston Audio services supplied a full touring production package for The Story of the Year’s Australian tour.

The production brief for the tour included dealing with 4 bands on the bill; 4 shows in 5 days - Thebarton, Festival Hall, Hordern, Brisbane Convention Centre; and sound, lights and backline had to fit in one truck!

With smart packaging and compact equipment Johnston Audio is able to fit a production of this size into a 48’ pantech. Despite the tight schedule, the system went up quickly and smoothly each day.

The audio system for the tour was Nexo Geo-T with a Wayloud monitor rig. A Yamaha PM5D console was at FOH, and a Yamaha PM 4000M console controlled the monitors. Ivan Ordenes rigged and looked after the FOH system, and Mark “Creepy” Crawley rigged and operated the monitors.

Johnston Audio also looked after the lighting on the tour. Paul Owen designed, rigged and operated the show which included 48 Par 64, 16 x ACL, 8 x 4-liters, 10 x Mac 500 and 8 x Mac 600 on a two truss system.
