Johnston Audio

The Great Escape Festival Sydney 2006

Johnston Audio supplied the main stage audio system for the first Great Escape Festival held over Easter in Sydney.

Held over three days, the Main Stage at the Festival featured performances from Silverchair, Sigur Ros, Something for Kate, The Black Keys, Bernard Fanning and Xavier Rudd

Johnston Audio supplied a Nexo Geo T system. The cardioid properties of the Geo T system made sure that the noise pollution from the main stage was negligent.

Bruce Johnston had made it back from the Oasis tour to engineer the Friday night headliners Silverchair. It was a rocking show by Silverchair and a great result all round for the festival.

The Great Escape system included 32 x Nexo Geo T line array cabinets, 16 x Nexo CD 18 subs powered by Camco Vortex 6 amplifiers. The FOH console was a Yamaha PM 4000 and a Yamaha PM 4000 M monitor console controlled the Nexo PS15 wedges and Nexo Alpha E side fill.

Ivan Ordenes ran the Geo-T system with assistance from Mick Lagler, and Simon “Davros” Blanche and Saul Skouterides ran the monitor system.
